Last week, Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly dismissed junior defensive tackle Brandon Tiassum and three others from the Irish football team.

But that doesn't mean Tiassum's football career is over.

On Monday, the 6-foot-4, 305-pound Tiassum — who made two tackles in three career games — took to Twitter to announce his plans for a graduate transfer.

"I will always cherish my time at this school," Tiassum tweeted. "I am two semesters away from obtaining my bachelor's degree in Management Consulting and I fully intend on graduating from the University in December 2018 to do so.

"With that being said, I will not be with the football program during this time. I have received my official release from Notre Dame and would like to open up my recruitment into other programs. I am looking to enroll at a new university as a graduate student starting in January 2019. God has a plan for me and it's up to me to follow course."
