Notre Dame’s Anna Rohrer finished sixth in a time of 32:26.24 in the 10,000-meter at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday night at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Ore.
Rohrer, a junior and Mishawaka High graduate, took the lead with eight laps to go before the front pack overtook her in the final three laps. Rohrer has just recently returned to competition after nearly a year off with injuries.
All of the top six finishing runners broke the previous meet record, which had stood since 1988. Rohrer earned first-team All-America honors with her finish.
Teammate Annie Heffernan also competed in the 10,000, finishing 17th with a time of 34:07.99. That finish makes her an honorable mention All-American.
ND’s Jessica Harris competed in the 1,500, finishing ninth in her heat with a time of 4:12.96.
