Ball State announces 2018 football game at Notre Dame

Ball State will play its first-ever football game against Notre Dame in 2018.

The Cardinals announced Monday a matchup in South Bend scheduled for a Sept 8, 2018. A Notre Dame spokesman confirmed the news.

"The opportunity to play one of the most storied programs in college football in a historic stadium will be very special for our student-athletes and everyone else associated with Ball State football,” Ball State head coach Pete Lembo said in a release.

Ball State, a member of the Mid-American Conference, finished the 2014 season with a 5-7 record.

Notre Dame's 2018 schedule also includes games against the following five ACC teams: Syracuse (Sept. 22), Virginia Tech (Oct. 13), Pittsburgh (Oct. 20), Florida State (Nov. 10) and Wake Forest (Nov. 17).
