IRISH STEW mock draft projects just 2 Notre Dame draftees

It was expected to be a relatively quiet three days next week for former Notre Dame players when the NFL stages its 2015 draft.

If an seven-round mock draft is any indication (, it may be even more uneventful that anticipated.

The site projects just two Irish players being selected at all, from an admittedly much smaller than usual talent pool, and none before the fifth round.

Tight end Ben Koyack is projected to go in the fifth round, with pick No. 147 overall, to the Cleveland Browns. Cornerback Cody Riggs is predicted to go to the Dallas Cowboys in round 7 (No. 243 overall).

Early entry and wide receiver DaVaris Daniels, kicker Kyle Brindza, running back Cam McDaniel, linebacker Kendall Moore and defensive lineman Justin Utupo are ND’s other draft hopefuls.

The Irish have produced four first-round selections over the past three drafts and 18 draftees overall in that time span. The last time ND had as few as two players selected was the 2011 draft, when tight end and second-rounder Kyle Rudolph was the school’s lone draftee.
