Defensive end Robert Beal made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame in April. The Irish returned the interest on Monday with a scholarship offer.

Beal, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound recruit, reported an offer from Notre Dame on Twitter.

May has been busy for the four-star sophomore at Norcross (Ga.) High. Beal added in the last couple weeks Ohio State, Florida and Georgia to an offer list that already included Alabama, Clemson and Florida State, among others.

Norcross also produced former Notre Dame target Lorenzo Carter, a defensive end who signed with Georgia in 2014.

Of Beal's 19 tackles in his sophomore season, 12 of them came behind the line of scrimmage and 3.5 were sacks.

247Sports slates Beal as the No. 9 weakside defensive end and No. 199 regardless of position in the 2017 class.

Honered to say that Notre Dame has blessed me with an offer #gofightingirishpic.twitter.com/PbSYsrwMGt
