Weekend wrap: Three new Notre Dame offers

More Notre Dame offers were reported over the weekend as the Irish stayed active in the evaluation period.

A pair of recent visitors from California added offers on Friday: sophomores Greg Johnson and Taariq Johnson. The two are teammates at Los Angeles Hawkins and visited South Bend with the B2G Sports group in April.

Greg Johnson, a four-star recruit, played quarterback and running back in his sophomore season. He rushed for 2,371 yards and 20 touchdowns in addition to throwing for 1,049 yards and eight touchdowns.

Greg Johnson claims more than 10 offers including USC, UCLA and Michigan. 247Sports slates him as the No. 2 athlete and No. 42 overall in the 2017 class.

Notre Dame became the sixth school joining Baylor, Miami, Michigan, Ohio and Washington to offer wide receiver Taariq Johnson. The 6-3, 206-pound recruit caught 20 passes for 450 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore. 247Sports pegs him as a four-star prospect and the No. 20 wide receiver in the 2017 class.

Wide receiver Tren'Davian Dickson reported a Notre Dame offer Saturday. The 5-11, 171-pound junior led the country in receiving yards in 2014 according to MaxPreps. He hauled in 90 passes for 2,163 yards and 39 touchdowns for Navasota (Texas) High.

Dickson claims more than a dozen offers including Alabama, Texas A&M and USC. 247Sports slates Dickson as a four-star recruit and the No. 7 wide receiver in the 2016 class. Rivals rates him as a three-star prospect and No. 59 at the position.
