Notre Dame made a quick climb into contention for Kenney Lyke.

A little more than a week after the Irish extended an offer to the 2015 defensive back recruit, Lyke put Notre Dame in his top four.

Lyke listed, via Twitter, Michigan State, Oregon, Baylor and Notre Dame as the top schools in his recruitment. Lyke later announced his decision will come May 22.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect visited South Bend in March on the same day the Irish added verbal commitments from cornerback Julian Love and long snapper John Shannon.

The three-star recruit recorded 64 tackles, two tackles for a loss and one interception in his junior season at Palatine (Ill.) Fremd. 247Sports slates Lyke as the No. 15 safety in the 2016 class.
