Two recruits report Tuesday offers from Notre Dame

Notre Dame turned its focus to defensive recruiting on Tuesday.

Defensive back Jaylon Jones and defensive end Tomon Fox, both 2016 prospects, reported Notre Dame offers on Twitter.

Jones, a 5-foot-11, 182-pound recruit, teamed with Irish wide receiver signee Jalen Guyton at Allen (Texas) High. He totaled 117 tackles, five pass breakups, three tackles for a loss and one interception for the state champions.

Jones claims nearly 20 offers including Ohio State, Oklahoma and USC. Rivals rates Jones as a four-star recruit and the No. 15 safety in the 2016 class. 247Sports slates him as a three-star prospect and the No. 34 cornerback.

Fox, a 6-3, 232-pound recruit, recorded 34 tackles, five tackles for a loss and three sacks in his junior season at Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill. The Irish were added to an offer list of more than a dozen schools including North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Tennessee.

Rivals ranks Fox as the No. 20 weakside defensive end in the 2016 class. 247Sports slates him 30th at the position. Both peg him as a three-star prospect.
