Notre Dame's coaching staff isn't afraid to venture north of the border for recruits.

Chase Claypool is proof of that fact. Claypool — a 6-foot-5, 215-pound wide receiver from Abbotsford, B.C. — reported a scholarship offer from the Irish on Thursday night. The Canadian standout adds Notre Dame to a list of offers that includes Arizona, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Utah, Washington and more.

Claypool is listed by Scout as a three-star prospect and the No. 135 wide receiver prospect in the 2016 class, though his lack of competition in Canadian football leagues makes it difficult to accurately evaluate him. The massive wide receiver, who could also potentially play tight end or outside linebacker on the next level, said in an interview with Scout.com that he has taken unofficial visits to Washington and Oregon, and could visit Notre Dame this summer.

Take a look at some of Claypool's highlights below.
