Notre Dame already has one defensive end commit in the 2016 signing class.

Why not look for another?

The Irish are clearly still in the market for capable edge rushers, as Texas prep defensive end Mark Jackson reported a scholarship offer from Notre Dame on Thursday. A 6-foot-3, 215-pound athlete, Jackson is listed as a four-star recruit by both Rivals and 247Sports, with Rivals also classifying him as the No. 11 player in the state of Texas and the No. 224 overall prospect in the 2016 class. 247Sports, meanwhile, ranks Jackson as the No. 152 overall prospect nationally.

Jackson, a standout at Steele High School in Cibolo, Tx., already holds offers from the likes of Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA, among others. If he were to commit to Notre Dame, Jackson would join fellow defensive end Julian Okwara in the Irish's 2016 class.

Earlier this month, Jackson accepted an invitation to participate in the 2016 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Check out some highlights from his junior season below.
