Safety recruit Chanse Sylvie adds Notre Dame offer
IRISH STEW
Shreveport, La., treated the Irish well in the 2015 recruiting cycle. Shreveport product Jerry Tillery enrolled at Notre Dame in January and became one of the top young players in spring football.
Now the Irish are back recruiting in the city. Safety Chanse Sylvie, a 2016 recruit, is the latest Shreveport star to draw the attention of Notre Dame. Sylvie reported an offer from Notre Dame on Wednesday after speaking with Irish defensive backs coach Todd Lyght.
Sylvie, a 6-foot, 185-pound safety, recorded 122 tackles, nine pass breakups, six tackles for a loss, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and one interception in his junior season at Calvary Baptist.
247Sports slates Sylvie as a four-star prospect and the No. 8 safety in the 2016 class. Rivals rates him as a three-star recruit.
Sylvie claims close to 30 offers including Oklahoma, TCU, Vanderbilt and Michigan.
