A search for speed led Notre Dame to Shreveport, La.

The Irish offered 2016 wide receiver recruit Marquez Stevenson on Thursday. He reported the news on Twitter after a conversation with defensive backs coach Todd Lyght.

Stevenson, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect at Northwood High, has more speed than size. But more college football coaches have started to take notice following his junior season. Stevenson claims 15 scholarships offers including ones from Arizona State, Baylor, Miami and TCU.

Rivals ranks Stevenson as a three-star recruit and the No. 33 prospect in Louisiana. 247Sports has not ranked him.
