Five new Notre Dame offers reported Wednesday
The Irish continued to identify football recruits to offer scholarships on Wednesday.
Five prospects — two in the 2016 class and three in the 2017 class — reported new Notre Dame offers. The group included a visitor on campus, an athletic linebacker and three four-star recruits who will be juniors in the fall.
Below is a rundown of each newly-offered recruit.
DB Donte Vaughn, 6-2, 195; Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven: Vaughn reported an offer following a visit to Notre Dame on Wednesday with his teammates. The Irish became the 16th school to offer Vaughn.
Vaughn also claims offers from Auburn, LSU, Miami and Tennessee. Rivals ranks Vaughn as a four-star prospect and the No. 18 safety in the 2016 class. 247Sports slates him as a three-star recruit and the No. 33 cornerback.
LB Koby Quansah, 6-1, 215; West Hartford (Conn.) Kingswood Oxford: Quansah reported an offer from the Irish on Twitter. Notre Dame became the 22nd school to offer Quansah, joining the likes of Arizona State, UConn, Duke and Michigan.
Quansah recorded 122 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks as junior. He also racked up 1,485 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns.
Rivals rates Quansah as a four-star recruit and the No. 9 inside linebacker in the 2016 class. 247Sports slates him as a three-star prospect and the No. 29 outside linebacker.
ATH JaCoby Stevens, 6-2, 200; Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Oakland: The four-star recruit already claims more than a dozen offers including Tennessee, LSU, Alabama and Auburn.
Stevens caught 19 passes for 279 yards as a wide receiver and recorded 50 tackles, five tackles for a loss and three interceptions on defense as a junior. 247Sports pegs Stevens as the No. 4 multi-position athlete and the No. 45 prospect overall in the 2017 class.
OL Wyatt Davis, 6-5, 290; Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco: The four-star prospect has already collected 14 scholarship offers from 13 schools including USC, UCLA, Alabama and Oklahoma.
247Sports ranks Davis as the No. 6 offensive tackle and No. 33 overall in the 2017 class.
RB Ty Chandler, 5-11, 170; Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell Academy: The four-star prospect reported an Irish offer on Twitter. Notre Dame joined Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Louisville, Kentucky, Pittsburgh and Vanderbilt on Chandler's offer list.
Chandler, who attends the alma mater of ND offensive lineman Alex Bars, rushed for 1,348 yards and 22 touchdowns in his sophomore season. 247Sports slates Chandler as the No. 7 running back and No. 67 overall in the 2017 class.
