Notre Dame already owns one tight end commitment in the 2017 signing class.

But why stop there?

Less than a week after top target Brock Wright committed to Notre Dame, Cole Kmet — a 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end from Arlington Heights, Ill. — reported an Irish offer via his Twitter account on Monday.

"Blessed to have received an offer from Notre Dame #GoIrish," Kmet tweeted.

Kmet, a standout at St. Viator High School, adds Notre Dame to an offer list that includes Baylor, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Northwestern and Ohio State. He competed at the Irish Invasion camp in front of Notre Dame coaches earlier this month.

Another competitor at that event was Wright, a consensus four-star recruit and the No. 1 tight end recruit in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports.

If Notre Dame doesn't sign a tight end in 2016 class, is it possible Brian Kelly and Co. will look to sign two in 2017?

Perhaps. Until then, get to know Kmet and take a look at the Notre Dame target's highlights below.
