When it comes to recruiting, Notre Dame starts up front.

Four Irish commits appeared in the most recent ESPN 300 rankings for the 2016 class, which was released Monday, and three of those commits were offensive linemen.

It all starts with 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive tackle Liam Eichenberg, who landed at No. 61 in the overall rankings. The Cleveland, Ohio, native is slotted as a four-star recruit by ESPN and 247Sports, and a three-star prospect by Rivals.

Fellow Ohio offensive tackle Tommy Kraemer came in at No. 162, while offensive guard Parker Boudreaux landed at No. 259. Kraemer is actually listed as a five-star recruit by 247Sports and a four-star prospect by ESPN and Rivals, and Boudreaux is a consensus four-star recruit.

The only non-offensive lineman commit to make the list for the Irish was wide receiver Chase Claypool, who was ranked as No. 158 overall. The 6-foot-6, 214-pound receiver from Abbotsford, B.C., recently impressed at The Opening, where he verbally committed to Notre Dame. Claypool is listed as a four-star recruit by ESPN and 247Sports and a three-star prospect by Rivals.

Notre Dame, which opens training camp on Friday, currently has 13 verbal commits in the 2016 class.
