As Notre Dame prepares to open fall camp on Friday, senior left tackle Ronnie Stanley, junior linebacker Jaylon Smith and the leprechaun were featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated's College Football Preview issue. Ohio State, TCU and Mississippi State were also featured individually on separate regional covers.
The Irish were listed as the No. 4 team in "the final four" by Sports Illustrated, following Ohio State (1), Auburn (2) and (TCU). Both Stanley and Smith are also projected as potential first round NFL Draft picks in 2016.
Notre Dame kicks off the 2015 season by hosting Texas on Sept. 5.
