LB target Jonathan Jones includes Notre Dame in top 5

Jonathan Jones has narrowed his list of suitors to five.

It's no surprise that Notre Dame is on it.

Jones — a 6-foot-1, 209-pound inside linebacker from Orlando, Fla. — included the Irish alongside Michigan, Duke, Stanford and Central Florida, in a tweet on Sunday. He's scheduled to take an official visit to South Bend for Notre Dame's game against UMass on Sept. 26.

The Oak Ridge High School standout is listed as three-star prospect and the No. 16 inside linebacker in the country by Rivals, and a four-star recruit and the No. 21 outside linebacker nationally by 247Sports.

At The Opening Final in Oregon last month, Jones talked to ND Insider's Tyler James about the benefits of potentially landing at Notre Dame.

“They have a lot of opportunities,” Jones said, “for you to better yourself and better your game.”
