Notre Dame visited by 'Lone Survivor' Marcus Luttrell

Talk about inspiration.

On Monday at Culver Academies, the Notre Dame football team received a visit from former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell.

In 2005, Luttrell was a part of a four-man SEAL team that encountered Taliban forces in Afghanistan during Operation Red Wing. Luttrel was the only SEAL to survive the battle and escaped the country with the help of a local tribe. He later received the Navy Cross for his service.

Luttrell's story was documented in his 2007 book and the subsequent "Lone Survivor" movie in which he is portrayed by Mark Wahlberg.

Luttrell spoke to the team during a break from practice in Notre Dame's last full day in Culver, Ind.
