Ikenna Okeke's return to Notre Dame will come in October.

The three-star safety prospect has scheduled an official visit for the USC game on Oct. 17.

Okeke, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior, last visited South Bend for the Irish Invasion in June. Following the visit, Okeke said he was close to committing during the trip but wanted to make a visit to Stanford.

Okeke said Sunday he still plans to take a trip to Stanford but has yet to schedule one. He has also set up an official visit to Penn State on Nov. 21 for its game against Michigan.

The Smyrna (Tenn.) High product remains one of Notre Dame's top candidates to fill a need at safety alongside Irish commits Jalen Elliott and Spencer Perry. Rivals ranks Okeke as the No. 33 safety in the 2016 class. 247Sports slates him No. 38.
