Notre Dame would like to double up on Cages on the defensive line, but thanks to Ohio State, the Irish may be too late.

Jerron Cage, the younger brother of Irish sophomore defensive tackle Daniel Cage, received a Notre Dame offer Thursday. Michigan State also recently offered the younger Cage.

But Jerron Cage gave his verbal commitment to Ohio State in July. Cage said Friday that the recent offers don't have him reconsidering his pledge to the Buckeyes.

Jerron Cage, a 6-foot-2, 282-pound junior at Cincinnati Winton Woods, will visit Notre Dame this weekend to watch his brother play. He planned to attend Notre Dame's season opener against Texas, but bad weather moved his team's game to that Saturday.

247Sports slates Cage as a four-star recruit and the No. 7 defensive tackle in the 2017 class. Rivals rates him as a three-star prospect.
