Former Notre Dame football star and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown will present a talk, "The Making of a Man," at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the University of Notre Dame.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be in Room 141, DeBartolo Classroom Building. It will be followed by a book signing.

Brown will discuss his life, dealing with racism and finding God. It's the keynote speech for Notre Dame's "StaND Against Hate" Week.

Brown played at Notre Dame from 1984 to 1987, and later played in the NFL for the Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders. He's the author of a 2014 book, "The Making of a Man: How Men and Boys Honor God and Live with Integrity."

Copies of his book will be available for sale afterwards during the book signing session.
