The recruitment of Daelin Hayes will end soon.

The highly coveted linebacker plans to announce his decision Thursday, Dec. 10. Hayes tweeted his intentions Monday evening.

Notre Dame sits in a three-team battle with Michigan State and Ohio State for the 6-foot-3, 239-pound senior.

Hayes already has finished his semester at Ann Arbor (Mich.) Skyline and plans to enroll at the school of his choice in January.

Rivals rates Hayes as a five-star recruit, the No. 3 outside linebacker and No. 13 regardless of position in the 2016 class. 247Sports slates him as a four-star prospect, the No. 10 outside linebacker and No. 104 overall.

Hayes made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame for the season opener against Texas and an official visit for the USC game in October. In between those visits, Hayes dropped his verbal commitment to the Trojans.

Since his last visit to South Bend, Hayes turned his attention to Ohio State and Michigan State. Hayes made an official visit to Columbus to see the Buckeyes beat Minnesota and an official visit to East Lansing to see the Spartans beat Maryland.

Hayes' announcement will come shortly before Notre Dame's annual awards night, traditionally a big recruiting weekend.

If he were to commit to Notre Dame, the Irish coaching staff would likely ask him to visit that weekend to help recruit others.

Five-star linebacker Caleb Kelly, four-star defensive back Jordan Fuller and three-star linebacker Jonah Morris are among those expected to visit Notre Dame that weekend.
