Ronnie Stanley leads Notre Dame on FWAA All-America Team

Notre Dame senior offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley was the lone Irish player represented on the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) All-America Team, which was released Monday.

Senior defensive tackle Sheldon Day and junior wide receiver Will Fuller and linebacker Jaylon Smith represented Notre Dame on the second team.

A 6-foot-2, 285-pound senior, Day led the Irish with 14.5 tackles for loss and finished second on the team with four sacks. Fuller led Notre Dame with 1,145 receiving yards, 20.5 yards per catch and 13 touchdowns, nine of them coming from at least 30 yards. Smith finished with a team-leading 113 tackles, after leading the Irish with 112 tackles in 2014.
