Notre Dame DE commit Khalid Kareem wins Semper Fi Bowl MVP
Notre Dame may have only had defensive recruits playing in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl on Sunday night, but that didn't stop them from getting their hands on the ball.
Irish defensive end commit Khalid Kareem recovered two fumbles including one returned 14 yards for a touchdown and received MVP honors following the game. Linebacker Jamir Jones, the younger brother of ND defensive lineman Jarron Jones and fellow Irish commit, intercepted a pass.
Both Notre Dame pledges played for the victorious East squad in a 28-13 win at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.
Kareem's touchdown gave the East a 14-10 lead in the second quarter. He picked up the loose ball following a mishandled exchange between West quarterback Dillon Sterling-Cole and running back A.J. Taylor.
