Notre Dame already has one four-star defensive end commit in the 2017 signing class, but the Irish aren't satisfied.

On Friday morning, Chase Young — a 6-foot-5, 220-pound prospect from Hyattsville, Md. — reported a Notre Dame offer, adding the Irish to an already extensive list of suitors. Young holds offers from the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee and many more.

The collegiate attention is well deserved. Young is listed as a four-star recruit, the No. 2 player in the state of Maryland, the No. 3 weakside defensive end and the No. 79 overall player in the 2017 class by Rivals, as well as a four-star prospect, the No. 2 player in Maryland, the No. 6 weakside defensive end and the No. 90 overall player by 247Sports.

Notre Dame currently has five verbal commits in the 2017 class, including consensus four-star defensive end Robert Beal.
