Notre Dame's quarterback target board for the 2017 class has expanded to three.
Hendon Hooker, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound junior at Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley, reported a scholarship offer from the Irish on Tuesday.
Hooker joins Clemson commit Hunter Johnson of Brownsburg, Ind., and Avery Davis of Cedar Hill, Texas, as 2017 quarterbacks claiming Notre Dame offers.
Following the offer from quarterbacks coach Mike Sanford and head coach Brian Kelly, Hooker told ND Insider he plans to visit Notre Dame next month.
The three-star quarterback completed 127 of his 198 passes for 2,234 yards and 17 touchdowns in his junior season. He added 1,217 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on 122 carries.
247Sports slates Hooker as the No. 14 pro-style quarterback in the 2017 class. Rivals ranks him as the No. 18 dual-threat quarterback.
