One of Notre Dame’s top quarterback targets in the 2017 class is planning a return trip to South Bend.

Avery Davis told ND Insider on Friday that he’s aiming to make a visit to Notre Dame on March 19, the next big junior day for the Irish.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Davis visited Notre Dame in November for the Wake Forest game less than a month after receiving an Irish offer. Davis was the first quarterback offensive coordinator Mike Sanford offered after top target Hunter Johnson of Brownsburg, Ind., committed to Tennessee in August. The five-star quarterback has since flipped his commitment to Clemson.

Davis completed 128 of his 197 passes (65 percent) for 1,966 yards and 22 touchdowns in his junior season at Cedar Hill (Texas) High. He also rushed 110 times for 934 yards and three touchdowns.

Both Rivals and 247Sports peg Davis as the No. 11 dual-threat quarterback in the 2017 class.

Earlier this week, the Irish offered a third quarterback in the 2017 class: three-star prospect Hendon Hooker of Greensboro, N.C.
