SOUTH BEND — The University of Notre Dame's The Shirt 2016 will be unveiled during a celebration outside the Hammes Bookstore on campus starting at 4 p.m. April 15.

The event is free and open to the public. It will feature entertainment, food, giveaways and special guests.

Notre Dame head football coach Brian Kelly is scheduled to unveil The Shirt 2016 at 6 p.m., and shirts will be available for purchase in the bookstore for $18 immediately following the ceremony.

For the first time, this year’s version of The Shirt also will be offered in a women’s cut style.

Each year, The Shirt Project designs a T-shirt for the upcoming Notre Dame football season. This will mark the 27th year of The Shirt project. Proceeds from sales benefit student organizations, extracurricular activities, the Rector Fund and The Shirt Charity Fund, a resource for students who face extraordinary medical expenses.

The project is organized and run by students.
