ESPN released its first rankings of the 2017 recruiting class on Wednesday, and five Notre Dame commits made the top 300.

Tight end Brock Wright led the group as the top player at the TE-Y position and No. 32 overall. Rivals, 247Sports and Scout also believe Wright is the best recruit in Notre Dame’s class.

Fellow tight end Cole Kmet was ranked as the No. 3 TE-Y and No. 115 overall. Quarterback Avery Davis was slated as the No. 7 dual-threat quarterback and No. 131 overall. Pennsylvania products Josh Lugg (No. 20 offensive tackle, No. 156 overall) and David Adams (No. 4 inside linebacker, No. 174 overall) rounded out the group.

All five players received four-star ratings.

Notre Dame’s class of 10 commitments ranked No. 6 in the country behind Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia and Miami.

Some of Notre Dame top targets also received top rankings from ESPN. Offensive tackle Trey Smith, who visited Notre Dame earlier this month, received the No. 1 overall position. Former Irish commit Robert Beal was pegged as the top defensive end in the class and No. 5 overall.

Eleven of ESPN’s top 50 recruits have already visited Notre Dame including Wright, Smith and Beal. The eight others: wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones (No. 12), wide receiver Joseph Lewis (No. 15), offensive lineman Josh Myers (No. 16), defensive end Joshua Kaindoh (No. 18), offensive lineman Andrew Thomas (No. 35), cornerback Thomas Graham (No. 43), safety Isaiah Pryor (No. 46) and quarterback Hunter Johnson (No. 50).
