Welcome to watch list season.
The Rimington Trophy kicked things off on Tuesday, when 57 players were named to the spring watch list for the award that annually goes to the nation's top collegiate center.
Notre Dame junior center Sam Mustipher made the cut.
Mustipher — a 6-foot-3, 305-pound junior — has the un-enviable task of replacing departed center Nick Martin, who was drafted by the Houston Texans in the second round of last month's NFL Draft. Mustipher has yet to start a game at Notre Dame but played in nine games last season as a reserve.
Mustipher will be one of three new starters on the Irish offensive line in 2016.
