Notre Dame FB recruit Adetokunbo Ogundeji shines in discus

Notre Dame football recruit Adetokunbo Ogundeji made his mark during the final event of his high school career.

On Saturday, the defensive end showed off his track and field prowess with a second-place finish at the Michigan Division I boys state track and field meet at Hudsonsville, Mich.

Competing for Walled Lake Central High, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Ogundeji had a toss of 178 feet. Connor Bandel of Oxford won the event with a state-record heave of 198-11.

Ogundeji and the rest of the football freshman class start summer school classes on June 13.
