Notre Dame hosts talented Jacksonville DB recruits

A pair of talented recruits with Irish scholarship offers, Shaun Wade and Tyreke Johnson, made a trip to Notre Dame on Sunday with a group of players from Jacksonville, Fla. Pro Impact Sports, a seven-on-seven team, included South Bend on its college road trip.

Rivals rates both Wade, a 2017 cornerback, and Johnson, a 2018 defensive back as five-star recruits. The two team together at Trinity Christian Academy.

Wade, 6-foot-2 and 179 pounds, committed to Ohio State in January 2015. Rivals ranks him as the No. 4 cornerback in the 2017 class. 247Sports slates him as a four-star prospect and the No. 3 cornerback.

Johnson (6-1, 177) reports offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU and UCLA, among others. 247Sports pegs him as a four-star recruit and the No. 2 safety in 2018 class.

Pro Impact Sports started its road trip on Thursday with stops scheduled for Georgia, Duke, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Purdue, Louisville, Alabama and Auburn.

The following recruits also made the visit: 2017 cornerback Nick Roberts and Quran Hafiz, 2017 linebacker T.J. Robinson, 2017 defensive end Deon Pate, 2017 athlete Derrick Smith, 2018 safety Chamarri Conner and 2018 linebacker Eriq Gilyard.
