Everett Golson has found a team.

Just not one in the NFL.

The former Notre Dame quarterback, who transferred to Florida State prior to the 2015 season and was not selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, has been added to the practice squad of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL, the team announced Monday.

A 6-foot, 200-pound quarterback, Golson completed 147 of 219 pass attempts for 1,749 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions at Florida State last season, eventually losing his starting job to Sean Maguire. He passed for 5,850 yards and 41 touchdowns with 20 interceptions in 24 career games at Notre Dame, while adding 581 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns.

As a redshirt freshman, Golson helped lead the Irish to an appearance in the BCS National Championship Game in 2012. He was academically suspended for the 2013 season but returned to Notre Dame in 2014.

Golson, who attended Notre Dame's pro day on March 31, spoke about the transition to the CFL on Monday.

"For me, I've kind of been through that, even transferring schools from Notre Dame going to Florida State, it was a learning curve then," Golson said in a video posted to the Tiger-Cats' website. "Just kind of shifting your mindset. So this is kind of the same process. I'm glad I've been through that before, so I take what I learned then and apply it now."

Golson said in the interview that he arrived in Canada for the first time on Sunday. While Zach Collaros (who played for Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly at Cincinnati) recovers from an ACL injury, Hamilton's current starter is former Oregon and Ole Miss quarterback Jeremiah Masoli.

The former Notre Dame quarterback will face an uphill battle to stick on the Tiger-Cats' roster.
