Toledo announces 2021 football matchup at Notre Dame Stadium

The University of Toledo announced Monday it has secured a date on the Notre Dame football team’s 2021 schedule.
It will be the first-ever football meeting between the two schools, and it’s slated for Sept. 11, 2021, five days after the Irish open the season on the road with a Labor Day matchup with Florida State.
Toledo will be just the fifth school currently in the Mid-American Conference to play Notre Dame in football, and just the fourth in the last 96 years. The others are Miami (1909, with another game set for 2017), Akron (1910) and Western Michigan (1919, 1920 and 2010), with Ball State schedule to visit Notre Dame Stadium in 2018.
