Signing Day is fast approaching, and Notre Dame still has work to do to wrap up its 2017 class.
But the Irish already have a promising foundation.
Eight Notre Dame commits were featured in Rivals' 2017 top 250 rankings, which were updated Tuesday. The group was led by four-star tight end Brock Wright, who landed at No. 56 and continues to be ranked as the top tight end prospect in the nation.
Behind Wright, the following Notre Dame commits were featured in the top 250: offensive lineman Robert Hainsey (No. 79), tight end Cole Kmet (No. 87), defensive tackle Darnell Ewell (No. 131), safety Isaiah Robertson (No. 197), running back C.J. Holmes (No. 198), linebacker David Adams (No. 215) and defensive back Elijah Hicks (No. 228).
All eight listed Notre Dame commits were assessed by Rivals as four-star prospects.
A number of top uncommitted Notre Dame targets were also featured, including five-star offensive lineman Foster Sarell (No. 3), five-star defensive end Josh Kaindoh (No. 16), defensive back Thomas Graham (No. 110), offensive lineman Aaron Banks (No. 112), wide receiver Jamire Calvin (No. 187).
One former Irish commit, four-star defensive end and current Georgia commit Robert Beal, also made the list.
Notre Dame has 17 commits in its 2017 class, which is currently ranked 11th nationally by Rivals.
