Notre Dame's 2017 recruiting class may have shrunk, but there's still substance amidst the dwindling numbers.

Eight of the Irish's 15 2017 commits were featured in the latest Rivals top 250 rankings, which were released on Tuesday. Notre Dame's two tight end commits, Brock Wright (No. 44) and Cole Kmet (No. 95), led the way.

Offensive linemen Robert Hainsey (108) and Aaron Banks (121), defensive tackle Darnell Ewell (139), safety Isaiah Robertson (202), running back C.J. Holmes (203) and offensive lineman Josh Lugg (236) were also listed.

Lugg had the most significant rise of the group, using a strong showing at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl to propel himself into the top 250. Linebacker commit David Adams, on the other hand, fell out of the top 250 and was demoted from a 4- to 3-star prospect.

Wright, Hainsey, Banks, Robertson and Holmes are early enrollees.

Three former Notre Dame commits were also ranked: defensive end Robert Beal (No. 177) and athletes Paulson Adebo (230) and Elijah Hicks (232).

National Signing Day is on Feb. 1.
