Equanimeous St. Brown broke out in 2016, and the college football masses noticed.

St. Brown — Notre Dame's 6-foot-5, 204-pound junior wide receiver — was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, which was announced Tuesday. The Biletnikoff Award honors college football's premier receiver, which is defined as any player regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, running back) that catches a pass.

Three more Notre Dame players — punter Tyler Newsome, defensive back Drue Tranquill and tight end Nic Weishar — were named to the watch list for the Wuerffel Award, college football's premier award for community service.

St. Brown led the Irish with 58 catches for 961 yards and nine touchdowns in 2016. He's expected to be a favorite target of first-year Notre Dame starting quarterback Brandon Wimbush this fall.
