Free screening of "Rudy" Friday night in Notre Dame Stadium
SOUTH BEND — The public is invited to a free screening of the film "Rudy" Friday evening on the new video board in Notre Dame Stadium.
Stadium gates will open at 6 p.m., with the film starting at 7:30 p.m. Parking is free.
"Rudy," a 1993 film, tells the story of Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, who overcame major obstacles to reach his dream of playing on the Notre Dame football team. Parts of the movie were filmed on the Notre Dame campus.
The movie screening ties in to the completion of Campus Crossroads, a $400 million project that provided major upgrades to the football stadium, including installation of the video screen, and constructed three campus buildings adjacent to the stadium.
