Condoleezza Rice receives honorary Notre Dame monogram

SOUTH BEND — Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice received an honorary monogram during her recent visit to the University of Notre Dame.

Rice, a 1975 Notre Dame graduate, received the honor in a surprise presentation while she was on campus Sept. 1 to speak at the official ceremony releasing a new "Forever" U.S. postage stamp honoring the late Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, Notre Dame announced Monday.

After speaking at the stamp ceremony, Rice addressed members of the Irish women’s basketball team in their team room at the Joyce Center.
