Six Notre Dame commits remain in updated Top 247

Six Notre Dame commits remained in the updated Top 247 for the 2018 class released by 247Sports on Wednesday.
Defensive tackle Jayson Ademilola kept his spot at the top-ranked commit in the Irish class, according to 247Sports. Ademilola has been ranked as the No. 2 defensive tackle and No. 51 overall.
Quarterback Phil Jurkovec maintained his status as the highest-ranked offensive commit. 247Sports pegs him as the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback and No. 100 overall.
Linebacker Jack Lamb received the biggest rankings bump of Notre Dame’s six commits on the list. He moved up 37 spots to No. 118 overall as the No. 7 inside linebacker.
Rover Shayne Simon (No. 12 OLB, No. 129 overall), wide receiver Kevin Austin (No. 20 WR, No. 132 overall) and safety Derrik Allen (No. 10 S, No. 134 overall) also made the Top 247.
247Sports slates Notre Dame’s class of 18 commits as the No. 8 class in the country behind Ohio State, Texas, Miami, Penn State, Georgia, Oklahoma and Auburn.
The Irish are still pursuing several targets on the Top 247 list: offensive lineman Nicholas Petit-Frere (No. 5), wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (No. 10), linebacker Solomon Tuliaupupu (No. 42), cornerback Kyler Gordon (No. 102), wide receiver Chase Cota (No. 121), defensive back Houston Griffith (No. 142), wide receiver Braden Lenzy (No. 144), defensive end Joseph Ossai (No. 187), defensive back Julius Irvin (No. 202).
Two former Notre Dame commits sit just outside the Top 247: cornerback Kalon Gervin (No. 260) and running back Markese Stepp (No. 264).
