Cincinnati Bengals lure back free agent Tyler Eifert
The Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday coaxed free agent tight end Tyler Eifert back onto their roster for 2018 with a one-year deal worth a reported $8 million.
The 27-year-old former Notre Dame All-American has played five seasons for the Bengals, since being drafted in the first round in 2013. But injuries have knocked him out of 41 out of a possible 80 games in his career.
He played in only two contests in 2017, finishing with four receptions for 46 yards. Last year's surgery was Eifert's third on his troublesome back. When healthy, he’s one of the top red-zone threats in the NFL.
