The 2019 recruiting cycle is well underway, and the rankings shifts have followed. An updated ESPN 300 for the 2019 class was released on Monday.
Five Notre Dame commitments made the list of the top junior football recruits: defensive tackle Jacob Lacey, cornerback K.J. Wallace, offensive lineman John Olmstead, safety Litchfield Ajavon and defensive tackle Hunter Spears.
Lacey received the highest ranking of the Irish commits at No. 116 overall. He was also ranked as the No. 14 defensive tackle in the class.
The rest of the Notre Dame pledges were ranked as follows.
Wallace: No. 18 CB, No. 215 overall.
Olmstead: No. 26 OT, No. 241 overall.
Ajavon: No. 15 S, No. 265 overall.
Spears: No. 30 DE, No. 267 overall.
Defensive end Howard Cross III and offensive lineman Andrew Kristofic did not make the ESPN 300, but they both received four-star grades.
Notre Dame's seven-man class was slated No. 15 nationally by ESPN. Only Ohio State, at No. 14 with six commits, was ranked higher with fewer commits.
