Three future Notre Dame players survived three days of trials and were named this week to the 12-player roster for the 2018 USA Women’s U18 National Team.

Incoming freshmen Abby Prohaska and Jordan Nixon made the cut from 35 hopefuls, who began the process on May 26 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Anaya Peoples, a member of the 2019 Irish recruiting class, also made the team. She is a 5-foot-10 point guard from Danville, Ill., and rated as the No. 19 prospect nationally in that class.

Prohaska is a 5-10 guard from Liberty Township, Ohio, while Nixon is a 5-9 guard from New York.

The team members will return to Colorado Springs for training camp on July 20, before the team departs for the 2018 FIBA Americas U18 Championship. That event will be held Aug. 1-7 at a location still to be announced.

Louisville’s Jeff Walz is the head coach of the USA squad.

Jordan Nixon, an incoming freshman at Notre Dame, is one of three future Irish women’s basketball players to make the USA U18 National Team.
