Notre Dame will start the 2018 season exactly where it ended the 2017 season as far as the Amway Coaches Poll is concerned.

The Irish were ranked No. 11 in the preseason poll released Thursday. That's the same spot Notre Dame finished in January after beating LSU 21-17 in the Citrus Bowl. The Irish landed at No. 11 with a 10-3 record after not being ranked in the preseason coaches poll.

Five opponents on Notre Dame's 2018 schedule also made the preseason Top 25 from the coaches: Stanford (No. 13), Michigan (No. 14), USC (No. 15), Virginia Tech (No. 17) and Florida State (No. 19)

The AP poll will be released on August 20.

Notre Dame wide receivers Miles Boykin (81) and Chris Finke (10) play hide and seek around a goalpost after a touchdown during the Blue-Gold Game.
