Three Notre Dame 2020 commits on updated Top 247 rankings
In 247Sports’ updated rankings, Notre Dame’s three 2020 commits dropped a few spots but kept their four-star status.
Park Hills (Ky.) Covington Catholic tight end Michael Mayer, ND's top-rated commit, dropped eight spots to No. 90 overall. He ranks as the No. 2 tight end as well. The 6-5, 240-pounder committed last month on July 1, making him Notre Dame’s most recent commit in the class.
Kevin Bauman trails Mayer by a spot as the No. 3 tight end. Red Bank (N.J.) Catholic’s 6-5, 226-pound junior fell nine spots to No. 152 overall.
The first Irish commit, New Canaan (Conn.) High’s Drew Pyne, declined seven spots to No. 229 overall. The 6-1, 172-pounder is the No. 8 pro-style quarterback.
Notre Dame has also garnered unofficial visits from at least 17 players on the Top 247 who have not committed: OT Kevin Pyne (No. 20), WR A.J. Henning (No. 26), OG Andrew Raym (No. 29), SDE Jacolbe Cowan (No. 56), S RJ Mickens (No. 59), WR Gee Scott Jr. (No. 61), SDE Darrion Henry (No. 64), OT Turner Corcoran (No. 72), WR Jordan Johnson (No. 97), DT Cole Brevard (No. 135), SDE Rylie Mills (No. 148), OG Geirean Hatchett (No. 167), OT Trey Wedig (No. 171) and WR Curtis Jacobs (No. 181).
