Notre Dame commit Kyle Hamilton approaching 5-star status in new rankings

Notre Dame 2019 commit Kyle Hamilton is approaching five-star territory. 

On 247Sports updated rankings, Hamilton elevated 136 spots to No. 22 overall. The Marist (Ga.) High product jumped to the No. 2 spot for safeties in the class. 

Hamilton, Notre Dame's highest rated commit, has helped the War Eagles to a 3-1 start. Against fellow Irish commit K.J. Wallace, Hamilton caught two passes for 109 yards and a touchdown. He also added an interception. 

Special teams was where Hamilton did his damage in week two. He returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and blocked a field goal. Hamilton recovered and housed it 67 yards for the score.

In the past two games, Hamilton hauled in a combined nine passes for 179 yards. Marist travels to White County (1-3) Friday night. 

If Hamilton continues his hot start, he might secure five-star status.
