The 30-3 College Football Playoff semifinal loss to Clemson ended the careers of many Notre Dame players.

It won't be the final games for a quartet of departing ND players, though. Former ND tight end Nic Weishar and defensive back Nick Coleman were the latest to announce they will extend their collegiate careers by a game, accepting invites to play in the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Weishar (No. 19) and Coleman (No. 22) will compete for the National Team (blue) and face the American Team (white). Saturday's game will kickoff at 10 a.m. EST from Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium. FloFootballl will broadcast the fourth rendition of the event. The 2018 game was played before 27 NFL and 33 professional football teams.

Former Irish players Drue Tranquill and tight end Alizé Mack are also playing in an all-star game. They accepted invites to compete in Reese's Senior Bowl on Jan. 26, 2019. Tranquill, a linebacker, saw his eligibility expire following 2018. Mack, a tight end, elected to forgo his final season and declare for the NFL Draft.

The Senior Bowl will be played in Mobile, Ala. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The NFL Network will broadcast the 2:30 p.m. CT contest.

Two of Weishar's three catches this season were for touchdowns of two and six yards. Coleman rotated at nickelback in 2018, amassing 16 tackles, four pass breakups and an interception.
