Notre Dame LB signee Jack Kiser elevates 481 spots in 247Sports rankings

Jack Kiser was once among Notre Dame’s lowest-rated signees, ranking as the No. 43 outside linebacker and No. 672 overall player on 247Sports.

That changed in the site’s final updated rankings for the 2019 class, which were released on Wednesday. The Royal Center (Ind.) Pioneer product saw a seismic elevation, ascending 481 spots to No. 191 overall. He’s now the No. 13 outside linebacker.

247Sports’ faith in Kiser bumped him to a four-star rating. Playing in Indiana’s lowest classification in IHSAA Class 1A, Kiser did not receive the benefit of the doubt. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder won back-to-back state titles and posted historic numbers en route to securing the Indianapolis Star’s Mr. Football honors. He became the first 1A football player to claim the award.

Kiser finished as Indiana’s fourth all-time leading rusher and second all-time leading scorer and with a 56-2 high school record. On defense as a senior, Kiser recorded 159 tackles, 8.5 TFLs, seven interceptions, nine pass breakups, six forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and two defensive touchdowns. He missed ESPN’s top 300 and the Rivals250 last week.

Safety signee Kyle Hamilton also received a bump to five stars, elevating to the No. 1 safety and No. 15 overall. 247Sports’ list also included Zeke Correll (No. 69, No. 3 OC), Andrew Kristofic (No. 120, No. 17 OT), Jacob Lacey (No. 177, No. 15 DT), Quinn Carroll (No. 182, No. 11 OT), NaNa Osafo-Mensah (No. 222, No. 13 WDE), Isaiah Rutherford (No. 231, No. 23 CB).

Beyond the rise for Hamilton and Kiser, Correll was the only other signee to elevate. His spot in the rankings increased by 69. Kristofic (four), Lacey (14), Carroll (12), and Rutherford (nine) dropped slighty, but none descended quite like Osafo-Mensah (109).

Osafo-Mensah also fell out of the Rivals 250 after once being at No. 174 overall. His No. 222 overall ranking by 247Sports is the highest among the three major rankings. ND’s 2019 class of 21 signees is ranked No. 13 nationally on 247Sports.
