Notre Dame’s second football game of the 2022 season has been set.

On Monday, Marshall announced the Thundering Herd will travel to South Bend for a Sept. 10, 2022 matchup with the Irish. It will be the first ever gridiron meeting between the two schools.

The one-game contract with Marshall gives Notre Dame nine announced games for 2022. The Irish will open the season at Ohio State on Sept. 3.

The current slate includes three other home games against Stanford, Clemson and Boston College. The Irish will play road games at North Carolina, Syracuse and USC and against Navy at an undetermined location.

Marshall finished the 2018 season with a 9-4 record as a member of Conference USA. The Irish are 5-0 all-time against Conference USA members with all five wins coming against Rice.
