Pod of Gold: Bob Morton on handling the center position
Notre Dame started spring practice last weekend and perhaps the biggest news came in the form of sophomore Jarrett Patterson moving from tackle to center, where he’s now in line to become the starter.
In order to get some insight on playing the position, we invited on former Irish offensive lineman Bob Morton on the podcast this week. Bob, who currently serves as the director of regional development at Notre Dame, played both center and guard during his career in South Bend.
On the podcast, Morton discussed the difficulties of playing center, how the Irish have set Patterson up to succeed, the promising future of Notre Dame's offensive line and his time playing for the Irish under Tyrone Willingham and Charlie Weis (:40).
Then Tyler and Eric made some prediction on the 2019 season for wide receiver Chase Claypool in the "Place Your Bets" segment (26:49).
Later, Tyler and Eric answered questions from Twitter (31:06).
"Pod of Gold" can now be listened to in a number of different places. The audio file can be found at the end of this story. It should appear on the various podcast platforms soon after being uploaded here.
